Bonjour à tous!

I’m currently in Canada with Stars on Ice. Yesterday night I had my first show and it went great. I performed my Tango “Otoño Porteño” and “Romeo and Juliet”.
I just arrived in Calgary and I have to say it’s a very strange feeling. I have many great memories of Calgary; the World Championships in 2006 were one of my most wonderful competitions. It’s exciting to be back! :)
We’re traveling in a very convenient bus with beds and we’re planning to have a dress up party when going to Kelowna as it is a very long trip. Should be fun :D
I’m looking forward to go to Vancouver and I’m hoping that the Canadian crowd will enjoy our show.

Je vous embrasse.

xoxo

Stéphane

PS: Still no sign from my shirt :( ;)

    Hello, Stéphane

I heard about CSOI in Vancouver. I’m glad to know you could join the group number and looked enjoying it very much. :D
And my friend told me that you had a busy but nice time in Orléans. That sounds nice!

After such a tough-Show-Marathon, you must be tired. Please take a good rest enough!!

Thank you for updating your journal!

Did you enjoy your first SOI in Canada?
Surely the audience of Canada would remember you.

    Hi from Japan!

Thank you for your quick journal.
It’s great to hear that you arrived safely at Calgary again, and you say you remember the worlds at Calgary right after the Torino Oly! Your performanses there were amazing. Your improvisation, Gavin DeGraw’s “I don’t wanna be”, was especially so moving!
    surely this time, too?
Your performanses always tell us something new.

eh..still no sign from your shirt…?
    Ishikawa, please find the shirt!!

    take care!

    hallo stephane

On te suit toujours.

    Hi Stephane,

I don’t know whether you could listen the Norway Eurovision song that became first but, when I listened it I thought it was very cute and this song reminded me you. And I don’t know whether this song is appropriate for skating but I thougt that you can skate with this song and make it more cute. It is just an opinion. Only I wanted to say this:)

    Take care of you:)

  27. From Kat (Everett, WA)

    Hi Stéph!

I hope you’re having a good time on the tour, and that you didn’t get too bored in Kelowna. ;) It’s hard to believe that the WC in Calgary was three years ago already – it seems like just yesterday you were flying across the ice in your psychedelic zebra costume! :)

I’m sorry I won’t be able to go up to Vancouver to see you perform tonight. So I’ll yell this now –
    GO STÉPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love, Kat

PS – look for the KA banner in Orléans Saturday night. :D

  28. From Meg

    PS:
What kind of thing is the shirt which you left in Japan?
I refer to Yoyogi gymnasium to be concrete if I understand it.
In Japan, the lost article does not usually disappear.

    Tu me manques. embrasser!!

  29. From Reut

Today is the show in Vancouver. You, performing in Vancouver… Wasn’t it something we all were waiting for, were worrying about, were maybe afraid of a bit? Well, yes, “another” Vancouver, but still… will you think about it tonight, there, on Vancouver’s ice, I wonder? And on the other hand when you mention Worlds in Calgary it seems to me like something from another life, though it was only three years ago. So many allusions in Canadian cities, connected to you. :)
Your marathon is coming to its end, and I just want to wish you to have a well-deserved rest and lots of ideas for the new programs we already looking forward to see. And have a nice show tonight!

  30. From Meltem (Turkey)

    Hi Stephane

World is very wide, and the people is wonderful.
Please the photograph that you dressed up is absolutely put on the journal.

Je vous aime que vous êtes sexy et gentil.

  32. From Edith Canada

I received a pleasant surprise with your guest appearance on Stars on Ice in Calgary. I always enjoy your skating and was disappointed to hear you had to retire from competition, but happy to hear you are still able to skate exhibitions. I’m from Bern but live in Canada for the last 36 years, currently in Calgary. My husband and I go to Stars on Ice every year and hope to see you again next year, maybe as part of the cast.

  33. From Motoko

Stephane,I’ve found a yellow ladybug just now in my room.First,I thought it’s already dead beause of not moving, but now walking!(and gone.)Surely, something good is going to happen to me and you(and fans)^^

  34. From Motoko

    Good morning, Stephane (in Kelowna)!

    How’s it going(also the party)?
I love your “I don’t wanna be” in Calgary extremely!! Probably it’s my most favorite EX of you at competitions except Romeo. I hope to watch it live!!( Maybe impossible, but …) I’ve not watched 2006 Worlds … I deeply regret…
By the way, I’ve never seen a bus with bed!! I can’t imagine at all…
Good luck with today and tomorrow’s show and the last trip on the bus!!

    I love you ^^

  35. From Jana

Dear Stéphane, thanks for updating your journal. It´s amazing :-)
I wish you a happy time in Kelowna and Vancouver.
    Have a good flight.
    Take care

  36. From Eileen, Calgary

I saw your stars on ice show in calgary!!!! I have to say THANK YOU soooooo much for coming!!!! i thought after you retired i would never be able to see you skate ever again,on tv or live, because no famous European skaters ever come to Canada. And canadian television is very patriotic and biased, so i was very sad. so when i learned that you would be in calgary i bought tickets immediately!!! i was very happy you performed Un Griorno Per Noi as it is my favorite of your exhibition skates!!! and the girl who screamed ‘Go Stephane’ right before your skate??? that was me… But again thank you for coming to Calgary and your skating is still so very beautiful and inspiring!!!

  37. From Sol

    Salut Stéphane

    Dear Stéphane,

first of all, I’m so sorry that I’ve written your name wrong last time again.

I’ve read the interview on the icenetwork.
You said, you have still pain and you do massage, physiotherapy and strength training…
But you show us so beatiful, artistic and technical programs.
You are so tough. I respect you for that.

And interviewer said “the native French speaker explained in flawless English.”
I am jealous of You !!
So, I’ll begin to study my english…
    Take care!

  41. From Audrey

Audrey

Although I watched the show on TV, I could feel what you felt during the show, and I was so touched with your fantastic movement on the ice.
Thank you for sharing your performance in Korea with us.

As for the shirt, shirt is just shirt like short program is just short program. So, even though you can’t get it back, I am sure that another shirt will bring more hapiness to you..^ㅎ^

luck to you and still dream that you could skate in one of the arenas in Latvia:)

    :) :) Merci beaucoup, Stephane,

for your new message! Calgary give me also lots of emotions connected with 1988 Olympic Games where the unforgettable Brian Orser fought for his gold title in his Motherland and took his silver with a sad teardrop. I didn’t know then that some Olys later another one of my favourites would be standing on the podium with a silver medal and shedding tears… In a few weeks he became the two-time world champion in Calgary :)

Stephane, I wish you a nice journey and great audience in every Canadian city!

By the way, you adore karaoke, so your heart must be always singing some tune according to your mood. It would be so lovely if you write in your new messages a song you’ve been living with that particular moment. For sure, the world will become brighter for lots of people!!! :)

As I’m also crazy about karaoke, I’ll start just now: Mark Anthony – When you sang to me… ;)

Hi Stephane!!! Yes, the Calagary Championship was awesome. I was there to watch you!!! Now I will drive up to Vancouver from Seattle to see you on Tuesday night. I will take a couple days off of work and spend the night in Vancouver. I will see you there and hope for a nice visit. It will be with joy that I watch you skate again. It was so great to see you in LA and have such nice conversations but I would have loved to see you skate. It just wasn’t the same without you.
    Much love, Shirley

    Dear Stephane
Yesterday I showed your tango “Otoño Porteño”to my colleagues.
Actually they didn’t know who you are.
But after they saw your performance, they asked me about you.
“What’s his name?” “How old is he?” “He is very nice”
Even though they were not your fans before,
    they admired at your performance.
Your performance not only impressed your fans,
but also other korean people who didn’t know you.
Stephane, you are the best! Please visit korea again.

Thank you for this new update. Nice to know that you arrived safe in Canada and that you enjoyed the Winnipeg show. Glad that you’re still performing “Romeo and Juliet”. I simply adore/love that one. Well, with all those feelings, tonight’s performance will probably be a very special one. Have a wonderful show and… why don’t you perform “Four Seasons” or “I don’t wanna be”. The crowd in Calgary would certainly like it;)

Good luck for the next shows.

Oh!…and have a nice dress up party:)
