First of all, Thank You all of you who sent me wishes for Christmas and New Year! Now it’s my turn to wish everyone all the best for 2010; follow your dreams and let’s hope this New Year will be successful and happy for all of us.
The end of 2009 went well for me. After the Nationals, I performed in a few shows: it was fun to work with the other skaters and I had a great time. I hope the audience had as much pleasure watching us than we had skating!
I then spent Christmas quietly at home in Valais with my family: my Grandmother is here for the holidays so I got to eat a lot of very good food!! Even though it was holiday time over these last two weeks, I’ve still been training regularly and taking care of my physical health. I have to train a lot because…I’ve prepared a new free program, so I have to repeat and repeat and repeat it! The music is from Verdi’s Opera La Traviata. I really love this music and I’m looking forward to performing to it in Tallinn…only two more weeks left till Europeans! I’m excited to compete again and hope that many of you will be watching.

Romance, elegance, refinement, passion blended with your high professional skill turned your performance into the exquisite emotional bouquet. It left a joyful sparkling impression. To say honestly, I am not a fan of anyone. I have never written letters or collected photos and so on. So I am, so to say, an independent “referee”. All the more so, it is strange for myself, that I am writing now a letter, but I can’t stop preventing me from sharing my impressions with you, because you’re really the unique artist sur la glace!
For some reasons I had to stop going in for figure skating when I was only seven. It is still “an open wound in my heart”. But from that time and till now this Art have always been my only passion! So when I had seen your performance after your returning back at sport I thought of the Future and Hope of the Art of figure skating.
Now you must be training a lot before the deciding moment. Don’t be nervous at all and take care of yourself. I know the competition will be hard and competitors are worthy to respect but I also know that you’re a man of steel “in a porcelain shell” , so you’ll manage with all the difficulties like a winner!

congratulations to your silver medal in Tallin. The ice skating got his ice prince back, that was a fantastic comeback. Last year when I was watching the Europeanship it was not the same because you weren´t there. My heart was not jummping up and down and I hadn´t gooseflesh. But this year it was again Stephane time. Your short program was wonderful, don´t think about the tripple axel. You don´t need it you have so much more in your programm than all others skaters togehter. And this you prooved in your free skating with la traviata. I thank you for the most wonderful, magnificants 5 minutes, no one like you can charmed the viewer with your skating. As the result finally came and I saw the number 2 on my TV screen I screamed so loud, you cannot imagine and I was so happy for you that all your work and passion got you this medal that I started to cry. And ohh yes during your skating my heart was like the years before jumping up and down.
Thanks for your two great shows good luck for the weeks training for Olympia, I hope you stay well and everythink is working like you want it.

Als das Silber gewonnen ist, so klappt’s, meine ich, es auch ins Gold zu verwandeln! Dafuer braucht man sozusagen keinen Alchemist einzuladen, aber nur zu glauben, dass “Wenn du etwas ganz fest willst, dann wird das Universum darauf hinwirken, daß du erreichen kannst”. Solch einen Wunsch habe auch ich…
Wissen sie, was interessant ist, ich habe einen Traum ein Bild gesehen, auf dem die Schweizer Flagge zur linken Seite war, es bedeutet ja den zweiten Platz! Die anderen 2 Plaetze sah ich ganz undeutlich. Ich aber legte keinen grossen Wert darauf und war keineswegs entspannt, als ich sie unterstuetzte.

Only Jumps. I really think the only think Plushenko shows when he skates are his jumps. Instead, you are able to show your skills, your heart,your feelings and above all, your smile.
You really seem Happy when you skate, not as bored as him. You seem to be enjoying what you do and that’s why you’re my favourite skater in the world.
I hope to see you skate a lot of times more, because a competition with you wouldn’t be the same exciting as it has been. I wish you all the best and please, never lose your smile, because with it you can show the world how beautiful Ice Skating can be.

Je te l’ai déjà dit une fois: quand on te voit patiner avec tant de grâce, de cœur, et cette beauté un tantinet sauvage (ça te va décidément toujours aussi bien ces costumes perso), on comprend pourquoi dieu a créé l’homme.
Bon retour sur la glace à toi qui fais tellement plaisir à regarder… ça m’a vraiment manqué (pas que moi d’ailleurs). Je suis heureuse que les juges aient également su voir qu’il n’y a pas que les axel… Tu parfais et sais si bien faire triompher tous ces autres éléments et détails tellement plus importants en matière d’art, que, le tout cumulé forme une quintessence en matière de patinage artistique.

Sure, in a a way or another, someone has to win, but you know, in most of the art competitions is always the most artistic who will be remembered, not necessarily the winner. It seems that the man competition has become a sort of “jump or die” arena… please continue to skate as you always did, it is a real pleasure to see how you listen to the music and how you create your programs on it. Ok, just know that I went through a lot of trouble to see you skating today, because there wasn’t (actually, there isn’t!) any good tv coverage of Euros and I, like many others, had to watch the competition online, in streaming, on the Estonian Tv. But my PC didn’t agree with me, I think… Not at all! I couldn’t watch the entire competition, so I saw just your group but to be honest “I saw” are big words: I tried to, but the connection was so slow that the video stopped every second and I missed lots of things of the few performances I watched!
Anyway, I think you’re not very happy with your performance, today…
Then listen: first of all, you are great no matter what. Always remember that, and that your fans always support you, either.
Second, from what I was able to see, you skated a beautiful, touching program, as ever: Wilhelm Tell himself would be proud of you! And surely Rossini does think the same, wherever he is.
Third: don’t you dare demoralize, understood??? I’m serious! Tomorrow you go out and show that you are the most artistic skater in competition, like you’ve always done and always do! Don’t show your smile, if you don’t feel it, but smile in your heart and feel free and happy on the ice, don’t care about the pressure of the competition but think of what you’re doing: you’re skating, and the last time I checked skating was your life and biggest passion…
Do it because you love to and everything will be great anyway.
And remember: a piece of chocolate is the best remedy to cure everything! (Am I really telling this to a Swiss man…?

I was watching the short program with a bunch of friends, some of whom were seeing skating for the first time. They complemented you a lot and I want to transfer their words to you. They said that you were the one athlete standing out. They could remember only your program and your choreography at the end.

I’m hoping someone will post the British EuroSport version of BOTH programs on youtube as USA no longer shows Europeans 
They aren’t even showing both programs on TV for USA Nationals!!!!!! How sad 
I miss the days when ESPN showed ALL coverage at Olympics,Europeans and Worlds. It gave a chance to see the up and coming skaters as well as crowd favorites-now our coverage is pretty biased and shows top 3 sp(or just clips)and top 4 fs – and all the USA skaters,no Europeans and pretty poor Worlds coverage! Thank Goodness for youtube! I subscribe to IFS Magazine and Blades On Ice,but,pix aren’t the same as videos
